That was my day. Wonderful and glorious.
Northbard came in and boy, did he get stuff done. Two of the racks are up and the holes are drilled for the other two. My bad...didn't get enough screws and mollies for the other two. i didn't realize that each side had two screws, so..I only got half. I'll get the rest sometime during the week. I can probably put them up myself. But I won't because I donn't have enough strength in the hands.
He came over sometime after noon and he got started. First, I'm giving Netflix a try. I almost had the laptop connected to the tv, but I need a cable that Northbard didn't bring so, that's also on for next week. But.... I now have the sound for the tv coming out of the speakers that have been sitting up on top of it for at least 4 years. :-) The sound is fabulous. And that whole area is neatened up so that I can see the cartoons Eric did of me in his and Joane's RPG's. :-)
Also, I've hung the pots and lids from the two bars already installed. :-) The table looks less cluttered already. Next job is to pack up the stoneware and pick up another set of melamine. Once I do that, I can move most of the rest of what's on the table into the cupboards where I can access them without bending.
He's going to set me up with remote mouse so that I can use the tv as my laptop screen for movies. :-)
We even managed to talk some. That was good. :-) Poor guy had to go to the store at least twice for stuff I didn't have. Not the tools, mind. Them I got. *grin* I am very happy. I'm hoping he can drop by tomorrow before heading home, but, looking at what's going on outside, I'm thinking that may not happen. At least I had today.
Next time, I better have the girls here as well. Not that I don't love having Northbard on his own, but, still, ya know........ *smile*
I walked this afternoon but I made a mistake. The first song that I walk to is quite fast and I had the weights on for it. That was a very bad mistake. Between that and being up and doing too much today (my fault..the kid threatened to slug me if I tried *to help* him again), I wasn't able to do more than about three minutes tonight...even without the weights. meh. Tomorrow I'll leave the weights off for the first one and then put it on for the other two. They're at a more normal (for me) rhythm.
And, Serena will be over tomorrow with my meat and pork. :-) I got a panicked call from Cairn yesterday telling me that they got the pig delivered and the outdoor freezer (winter) was gonna be defrosting tomorrow and they don't have room in the freezer and..and..could they bring by my portion today. Serena called me later and told me that he just panicked a bit. *grin* But, hopefully, she'll be over tomorrow with
mah shtuff and we'll actually have time to visit as well. :-)
My life don't suck. *grin*
Hawise and I were listening (I think it was Hawise) to something on the radio about portable wealth. And I decided that I definitely have much portable wealth.... all you guys. :-) You are my wealth. Thank you.
