I've gotten out of the habit of posting regularly. There simply isn't enough happening in my life to make a decent post once a week (even). I'm tired of it.
My protegee from Bois Ardents (Trois Rivieres) came down to visit yesterday. We went out for a walk to the pharmacy and the bank and then decided to stop off for lunch at my Indian Resto/bagel shop. *grin* Yes, most of the bagel shops in montreal are now run by Indians. I think it's awesome. :-)
Anyhow..delicious food and wonderful company. Dinner ended up as wokked onions, garlic, shrooms, green and orange bell peppers, fresh ginger, soy sauce and mirin and black and white sesame seeds. I sogged up some rice noodles and tossed them into the fray. It was quite delicious.
Today, we set off for Ikea and the Bulk Barn. I walked to the bank first to cash a cheque and get some more US for Birka. I can now not only pay for my part of the room, but I can even eat and maybe (gasp) buy myself something this year.
I got what I needed from Ikea to make it possible to reclaim some of my dining room table (JIGSAW PUZZLES AGAIN!!!!).
At the Bulk Barn (Svana was slightly in shock...she's never been to one before...she was a Bulk Barn Virgin. *grin* I restocked my dwindling almond and cranberry stocks. Also my favourite candy sticks. Not only at Longship Trading anymore. :-) Got some stuff for Adi and we came home. I ran out of spoons sometime before leaving Ikea. The seat in her car doesn't go down even close to beneficial and our roads leave huge whomping craters of a lot to be desired. We had lunch at Marche do l'Ouest where the Barn is. I have now introduced Svana to the joys of Shishta'ouk and houmus and rice and lentils. I'm a baaaaaad peer. *grin*
Tomorrow, hopefully with Adi as well, we'll be heading out to Hawaii. It's an awesome Oriental store that I've come to love. What can be bad about frozen, steamable taro buns and red bean paste buns. That's another new one Svana learned about tonight. *grin*
the pain is .. interesting. I'm not sure where it hurts more. Now, do I ignore it or play with it to see what hurts more? Hmmmm.... choices.
*grin*
