What an awesome few days I've just had. :-) Northbard arrived in town on Thursday afternoon and came over for a while. Friday, hawise picked him up and then they came and got me and off we went to Chez Cora's for brekkie. I should have thought ahead and found a breakfast place that is Vegan friendly. Sorry Northbard. I'll find one for next time.
Anyhow... from there we went to Cdn. Tire to find my new toaster oven. My old one is almost 20 years, I believe, if not older... a small two slicer which has served me well. However, it started showing it's need for retirement about 5 months ago and Friday was the day. We found an absoloutely lovely Bravatti rotisserie/confection oven. Yes, it toasts as well. :-) It's black and new and shiny and absolutely wonderful. I no longer need to struggle getting things in and out of the oven. I can actually cook a 5lb chicken or roast in this thing. So far I reheated a chicken breast on the middle rack and rice on the bottom. Then for first meal I made a pizza. It comes with a pan so I popped the tortilla pizza in it, preheated the oven, turned it to confection and popped it in. About 15 minutes later it was done to perfection. :-) Happy Freya. *grin*
My cordless is also dying, so we got me a 25' phone chord (male at both ends... go ahead, you know you want to :-) ). and hooked up my extra landline phone up to use in the living room.
then to Loblaws for some fresh veggies and the pharmacy for some supplements. Hawise had to go for me cause there was no way I could get out of the car more than one more time. Done and home. Northbard and Hawise set up the oven, put stuff away and off they went.
Today, Northbard arrived in the late afternoon... I didn't awake till 2 so that was okay. :-) After some coffee, he set up my printer (you're off the hook
10nameslater *grin*) Now Steve just has to get the cartridges refilled for me and hopefully, I'll have a printer by Tuesday. :-) He also helped me arrange my stuff on the dining room table much more usefully. I know there was other stuff. and we had a nice visit.
I don't think I'll get to see him tomorrow before he leaves, but it's been a good weekend. :-) and next weekend Bubbette shows up. :-) My cup overfloweth, or something along those lines. *grin*
