are happening EVERYWHERE in the Knowne Worlde this weekend. And well timed too, I might add. Happy 12th Night to all. Hopefully (appropriate incantations appreciated) the worst of the current systems will dissipate by Friday eve and remain quiet through the weekend.
As I'm sure many of you are aware, the US is experiencing worse winter weather than normal. However, this means that there are an awful lot of folks out there who have absolutely NO idea of how to drive in this Q#&$#^#$ (insert your personal favourite here). Therefore, please, please be extra careful on the roads.
If you're compelled to drive after dark, please drive slower. Any melt from the sun will freeze. Not nice.
Remember to have your cell phones charged (hands free of course *grin*). Don't forget your shovels, tire trax, salt/sand, flashlight, blankets, candles, matches/lighters (flints will do but take a while). Then there's the liquids and snacks and reading stuff and shackle... oops..wrong list. *grin* Seriously, make sure everyone (including pets) are properly restrained..duct tape is period.
Remember that the cleanup crews don't want to be out there any more than you want them to be there. But they are doing a task which makes it safer for us to be on the roads..so give them the courtesy of consideration and maybe a wave of thanks. I know they get paid really well (at least up here), but it's still a miserable job and a smile or nod would probably make their time a bit lighter.
So... I make these demands of each of you.... Have fun, be safe and smart, be good to each other and have a swallow in my name.
