What a wonderful day.
I finally fell asleep at about 5;30 this morn. Phone rang about 7:30.. it was Hawise letting me know she was on her way. I was soooooo ready. :-) then off to pick up Stryker, McBarf to eat on the way and we were off through the fog and rain.
It's very eerie lying down in a car when all you see is grey. There is a definite feeling of otherworld.
we arrived and I was set up in a quiet area of the hall. It was lovely. folks came by to visit and it was lovely. Some I haven't seen in over 2 years. It was so great. I bought raffle tickets as usual. we'll see if my Ealdormere raffle foo is still good. :-)
Court. It was interesting. I don't know TRM Ealdormere, but from the way they ran court, I'd say they know what they're doing. they seem likeable.
Derfel and Melisande stepped down as Baron and Baroness and her excellency Xristinia continues as Vicar.
And then, the piece de resistance, Dame Tsivia was sent on vigil to ponder on whether or not to accept a second peerage.... the Pelican. And about friggin time, too. *grin* It was too awesome.
Court was over, we changed and headed out to Swiss Chalet to meet up with some others for dinner. the wait was so long, that when asked if I wanted to keep waiting, I had to say no. My body had had enough. So we said our goodbyes and headed out. Stopped in Casselman for Subway and hit the road again; Just after crossing back into Quebec, Hawise switched seats with Stryker who, after figuring out that an automatic has no clutch, headed us to home again.
On the way home from there, I suggested that perhaps, it might be a good idea to leave my cot and mattress in the car and I would just make it upstairs on my own leaving Hawise to head home.
Not a word of dissent. :-) So now Hawise has an excuse to come visit during the week. :-)
All in all... it was a wonderful day. I am so glad Hawise succumbed to our whinging. *grin*
I figure it'll take me about a week to recover. *grin* It's all good.
