I need to share something marvelous with everyone. I had a fabulous, on-line shopping experience. Today.

See, I found out that IGA WILL do internet shopping and delivery. For those of you who don't know it, IGA is a large Grocery Chain..Independent Grocer's Assoc. That'll give you an idea of how long they've been around.

Anyhow, I set up my account as a cash payment on delivery. Because I'm a senior, I don't pay for delivery..only for the stocking fee which is like..3$.

Now..remember I mentioned someone was cooking me Thanksgiving dinner? Well, we decided to try out this internet thing. So, she went to my account and .... it wouldn't let her choose a delivery option. Pickup only. Not this little girl, I'm afraid. So, I got her the 1-800 number to call
to see what was up. They told her there were no deliveries on the weekend because of Thanksgiving.

I was prepared to get upset, but, with my newly discovered patience, I decided to call the store directly. Smart move. I got the manager (her name is Josie) and explained the predicament and that I was a shutin and thus unable to pick up. She assured me that there was delivery on Saturday and proceeded to tell me how to get around the problem. She will call me tomorrow am (shudder) to let me know if everything is okay. And no, I won't be putting stuff away myself. Anna is here on Saturday to clean and launder and she'll be able to do it for me. :-)

So.... this was my most excellent experience with a large company. And I must say that I have never had any problems dealing with anyone in that store. I won't speak about the one in the Cavendish Mall, though. See, it's the people working in this type of industry that will make or break a store. Guess which one I'll go to even when I'm able to shop in person. :-)
