It appears that I won't be doing Coronation afterall. Not enough room for me. There are twelve 6' X 8' spots. I would need more than half of them. I can understand that. I take up too much space.

Also, there's that damned merchant fee that the NJ folk seem to feel it necessary to charge us. And I have yet to be given an acceptable reason for it.

They haven't rented an extra room for us if there's that little space available. They haven't rented the tables for us as we need to provide our own. So..my question is, why the obvious discrimination and tax on merchants?

We pay our fees like everyone else. Not all of us do it as a business. Why is this done? Birka charges us. But that hall IS reserved just for us. So it is fair. GNEW only charges for the tables we use. If you bring your own, no charge. And if you pay for the tables, they're just for you. For the whole event.

I know. Cons and other stuff charge it's merchants. We aren't a con or anything else like it. This is the SCA. I'm a Scadian. We get enough taxes with no return from the BOD. I think that's sufficient. I also don't like the fact that we are singled out as a group to be taxed. That's discriminatory in my mind. No others are charged extra. A&S takes up space at no extra charge..even for the tables. Fighters take up space at no extra charge..even for the MOL tables. Etc., etc.

Don't tell me it's because we make money at events. Not always. Believe me. Not always. I simply cannot see any acceptable excuse for this discrimination.

Sigh. Rant over.

I am going to spend it away from the puter and flat on my back. No walking or anything else. I need it. I've had too much pain in the last few days. Spent most of today out flat and I'm feeling better for it.
