freya46 at 02:31pm on 01/08/2007So..today started out really lousy. Found out from the CLSC Liasson, Nadia (really great girl) that the govt...don't remember if it's federal or provincial... will not give me a rent subsidy because ...are you ready for this?... I made too much money in 2006.
Don't ask me. I don't understand it either. However, I am going to find out how to fight it. I don't want to ask friends nor family nor relatives to help me pay for my utilities and food for goddess only knows how long.
On top of that, the Scan results are still not in and the Dr. is going on vacation after next week, I think the secretary said, and that means....nothing until the end of Sept. I WILL NOT accept this. None of it. Time to take on the government again. I won last time.
Then the good part began... Dragonlily_3 came over and did the hard part to fill in my application for my Quebec Pension. According to Welfare, I have to apply for it or Welfare won't help me. Of course....they will subtract whatever I get from my pension from what they give me so, as usual, the only winner is the f***ing govt.
Anyhow...that was done. Now, she's gone around the corner to pick up some samosas for us. And I spoke to the guy at the store and if I call around 8am, the chef who makes the Indian food daily (this is Yagel Bagel, by the way :-} ), willnot only make something without tomatoes or peppers or eggplant (I seem to be handling potatoes okay), but he will even deliver it to me on his way home at about 1:30. And a good-sized container is only about $3.79 and can give me three meals, along with some rice and naan...I'm set. :-) I'll see if he'll throw some tofu in as well and that way I have my protein as well. I'm not getting enough protein right now and I'm not pleased with myself. But it's very hard to teach people how to cook this way in one hour. Sigh. I'm going to see if someone can come over and make me up a pot of my chili. Maybe Friday. Cynthia is taking me to get my hair cut and we'll pick up some stuff at the same time. :-)
