An interesting update to yesterdays diatribe.

Brenda needed the battery changed in her MP3 player so she could go on her walk and didn't know how to fix it. Yes, that's right. She thought you had to unscrew it and needed a tiny screw driver. I have one. Of course, you don't need it, but that would have required her to actually look at it. She is what I call straight data entry without thought. Anyhow...I changed her battery and showed her how to do it in the future.

so..she's gone for an hour. The boss is out. And now Debbie was going out for lunch with her son. The third of the triumvirate doesn't work Wednesdays. It's bridge today so we usually bop downstairs and snag food. I can't manage it.

I asked Debbie if she would mind just going down and asking one of the gals working in the kitchen if she could put aside something for me to pick up later. And she did.
She's also bringing me a seat for the shower since it's hard for me to make it through.
Offered it, she did when I mentioned that I was going to go get one.

Maybe she CAN be taught. :-)

I went down to get the food for lunch and had to sit down for a few minutes before getting back into the elevator to come back upstairs. The super saw me and asked if I wanted a wheelchair. I said no...but...could I borrow it for the weekend. Yup. There's two here. Check with the boss.

I did. I now have the use of folding wheelchair for the forseeable future. :-) YAY!!!!

Scary what makes me happy these days, isn't it. *grin*

So..first physio. She did the tens, which I'm gonna borrow for the weekend if we can work out the logistics. Did Ice and something else electric. Once I explained ALL the physical anomolies which make up this body. She just shook her head and decided that most of what she would normally do will not do. she can't touch my lumbar region because it's simply too swollen and inflamed. So...icing. Absolutely NO exercising.
No twisting. I do sleep right at least. :-)

so I'm sitting here in front of the puter with a freezer pack on my lower back. 15min. on, 15 minutes off.

Due to the fibro, it's pretty hard to put any pressure anywhere on my body where it might do some good. But...we'll wait and see. $60. later (1 1/2 hrs) and I'm on my way pretty much in the same shape I was when I arrived. But I'm going to give it a shot. She's going to nag the clinic for the MRI results, though. :-) Want's to be sure there isn't a compressed disc involved.

then off I went to dinner with the aunt and uncle. Apparently Aunt Sue is still talking about her trip in BoB. :-) My Uncle and I are ragging on her to get the hell out of the house. He took her up north yesterday. She's spent most of her life revolving around her husband and doesn't know how to be alone. I'm trying to get her to go to Toronto when I go to Peterborough beginning of June. I'll drive her there, then go to Peterborough, do Pikeman's and then drive back to TO on Sunday to pick her up and head home. She doesn't want to come to New Brunswick with me next weekend. Can't understand why not. *grin*

Dinner was delicious.
