T.T. asked me to post my safe arrival home on my LJ. I'm home. Safe.

The trip from Coldwood including a stop for gas, a run through the border and driving over a wild, uncontrolled mattress took 1 1/2 hours.

Yes...I said mattress. On the 10 N., just before the Sherbrooke st. exit, the exit before mine, I swerved to avoid a mattress in the middle of the hwy.
Unfortunately, there was a car on my left which was almost parallel to me so I had to kill the mattress. Damn thing got caught under the truck and I was barely able to get BOB off to the side. there is barely any shoulder so needless to say, I was NOT getting out. I put on my hazards, shut off the engine and called 911. While I was talking to the SQ, there was a road crew truck pulling up behind me and partway into the right hand lane. He came over, looked at BoB and what he was sitting on and had caught in his wheel well. At that point a second one drove up and between them, they managed to navigate me off of the mattress. Lucky I had turned off the engine....the mattress had started to burn. Did I mention the stop for gas????

so...they took the mattress in it's various forms of destruction (sorry..no glossies guys) and sent me on my way. All this took less than 15 minutes from contact to finish. The guys were very nice and quite wonderful. I was home about 10 minutes later.

So...I had a great day at Coldwood. I wish I could have stayed for feast (the mushroom soup was to die for) but I was tired and in pain and needed to come home.

All in all, a great day and a good trip.
