But our Canadian version of the Republicans, Harper, is on his way to removing the rights of women.  Just like in so many US States.  We have to stop him.

But my life she is fairly boring now.  So... not really worth posting much.  I'm afraid I use fb because I have nothing really important to share.  And that really bothers me.  But there isn't really anything I can do about it at this point in time.  I am still reading, so don't forget me. :-)

I am relatively healthy.  Trying (not too successfully) to lose weight.  Trying to walk every day for at least 30 minutes.  Pain levels vary with weather and activity.

I am learning my new laptop.  Much better than the old but they've added new keys and I'm getting a bit frustrated dealing with those.  Got rid of the complementary Norton and installed AVG.  Thinking of adding an adblock.  Any good freebies out there?

I tried remembering what Northbard told me about using the iTunes and the synch with the iPhone and everything but it is gone from my head.  Unfortunately, I can't write stuff down as he explains.  That's my failure, not his.  He's doing something he hates to help me out.  His patience amazes me sometimes.

Hoping to get some of my games that were set up on the old one onto this one.  I miss them.  One of them is too old and won't work.  Hoyle's card games.  Karen gave me a cd of it years ago.

I'm getting more and more aggravated with Babe's constant screeching.  I enjoy the singing.  Even some of the squawking.  But he has taken up screeching lately and it gets to the point that I can't even hear the TV so..he's spending most of the time I'm in there covered.  I keep reminding him that his life span is coming to a close and if he's not careful it's gonna end sooon.

My next event will be Border Spat in Cornwall.  And I should be able to get to TSivia's double 5 on Mother's Day Sunday. :-)  Makes me happy.  I haven't had a weekend away for a long while.  I'll be bringing my trim with me. :-)

I guess that's it.  Told you my life is a bore.

have a great week all.

Will be fun. :-)  Kat is picking me up at 9:30 and off to Cavendish Mall for a haircut.

Then it's off to the Metro on Queen Mary to do my Passover shopping.

Then I'm treating her to sushi for lunch at the new sushi restaurant around the corner. :-)

We will be between 4-7 people next Friday night for dinner. :-)  Not enough people, room, nor stamina to do a seder, so it's just gonna be the food. :-0

Friends and enemies, lend me you eyes. Mine suck so I figure someone else's would be better.

Anyhow...As of Sunday, I will no longer be using fb. I've tried to avoid getting caught up in current atrocities, which is why I stopped reading newspapers or watching/listening to the news. I have high blood pressure, but not the ability to stop from getting angry and frustrated at what is going on in... my world. And the knowledge that I'm pretty much unable to change any of it just makes it worse. those of you who know me know I'm a reactionary git.

My soul can no longer deal with the insanity that is the US and the Harper Govts. I can't handle it. I just get madder and madder and I want to go out and start beating up on people.

fb has brought it all right back where I left off 5 years ago and I am done. I'm getting the nosebleeds and the stress back pain and nausea and depression (worse than usual) so..... as much as it pains me to admit to my weakness, I have to be honest with myself.

So...As of Sunday at Midnight, I'm off the air.

I hope folks will find me on LJ or DW or email.

I walked 5km today...approx. Decided to head out on Sherbrooke and see how far I could get. Got to Esposito, did a bit of shopping and headed home. I was out for just over 2 hours. Took my time. The walk was made more pleasant by a gentleman who lives on Sherbrooke who decided to join me. goes much easier with company.
I don't feel to badly, all things considered.
I had taken out one of the packages of meat I bought for BIA but didn't use.  I added some toasted pine nuts, pepper, parsley, coriander and garlic, mixed it all up and made 5 burgers.  Was going to put it on a big pita as it's supposed to be, but decided that would be more starch than I wanted so switched to the burgers.

Had some black rice left over, so, sauteed onions, mushrooms and garlic and threw the rice in when it was ready.  Loverly and I have leftovers for tomorrow night.  though I will need something to go with it. :-)

busy busy day today.  Cynthia picked me up at 1pm and we went to Akhavan where I did what must have been the fastest shopping run e.v.a.h.
Then off to Loblaws and home.

I scanned in the purchases (Nielsen) and then laid down for a bit.  After that I put stuff where it belonged, did the dishes and ate lunch.  Then.... ah...then it began.

The Tabouleh, except for the slicking and chopping of veggies is done.  Veggies happen tomorrow.
The Mujadara is made, ziplocked and in the fridge...with the tabouleh, though in different ziplocks.
The hummus is done and will get ziplocked when I have another pair of hands to help...tomorrow.
The Baklavah is bought and in the fridge.
Roasted red peppers and pickles and pickled turnips are acquired.  Also wonderful pitted olives in garlic, oli and black and white sesame seeds.  Can't wait to taste those. *grin*.

Tomorrow besides the veggies, is the ground beef with spices, onions and pine nuts on pita.
Tomorrow is also the day of the ersatz musakahn.  It's a Jordanian dish normally broiled and finished on pita.  No oven available on site for me, so, I'm using chicken breasts and...adjusting as I go. *grin*

Busy Freya is bushed and self satisfied. *grin*

It's our Baronial Investiture Anniversary here in Dragon Dormant this coming weekend.  It's a Middle Eastern themed event and so is the feast.  Unfortunately, I am unable to eat a sizable portion of it so...I'm doing my own ME feast for 4. :-)

Hummous (with)b'tehina accompanied by pita, pickles, pickled beets and olives.
Kibbe (or my version of it) b'tehina.  I may add pinenuts.  I may make muhadara, a lentil, rice and onion dish to go with it.
Moussekahn (or my version of it).  It's a Jordanian chicken dish made with onions, pine nuts, and sumac.  Normally it would be finished off on pita under the grill, but, since I won't have access to that, I'm going to adjust it to be eaten off the pita. :-)

Proper finish to a ME meal is, of course, baklavah.  And no, I am NOT making my own.  We have a lovely ME shop near me and theirs is delicious.  And I don't have to make it. :-)

Thursday and Friday are going to be strenuous, to say the least.  But I hope the result is worth it. :-)

So..Utsi and I are going for Dim sum on Sunday at Sky dragon restaurant in the dragon city mall at 10 am.  If you'd like to join us, let one of us know, please and thank you.

And don't try to surprise me, because if nobody responds, we may just go to a different place further north. *grin*

I haven't had Dim sum in years and I am very much looking forward to it.  Remember, the more people the more fun. :-)

Sigh.  So last night I increased my Nabilone by 1mg.  i'm back up to 5am and 6pm.  I had to do it.  I couldn't handle the pain level I created by walking two km last Thursday.  I think it was more that I couldn't take the time to rest while I was walking as I wanted to be somewhere by a certain hour.

Friday, I could barely move from the lower back down.  Sat. was a bit better but still involved some loud vocalization.  Sunday, improvement as well, but, knowing that I've got a 5 hour train ride this Thursday, I had to bite the bullet.  Hopefully, I won't have to increase again.

I figure that I'll give myself a full week to recover from this trip before I try to go back down to the 5 & 5/day.

Still trying to lose the weight.  I'm being better about not snacking in the evening.

My train travel is booked and paid for.  My hotel is reserved.  I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow afternoon.

I'm already starting to panic. *grin*

The great thing is that I've got this Ativan sitting with the rest of the meds.  I've had them since October, I think.  Not sure.  They are for when I can't control a panic attack.  What's great about having them is that I'm just stubborn enough that having them is enough.  I don't need to take one..I just need to know that I can.

Isn't it marvellous what our brains can do?  Even when you know you're fooling it. *grin*

I'm excited for the trip.  I don't remember the last time I travelled by train and it's been years since I was alone in a hotel room.  Can you say Scadian???? *grin*

So..who's wants to get together while I'm in TO?
